Today, we are looking into the needs of the Civil Society. What are the needs for tomorrow? How can we defend and uphold equal rights and democratic values? How can we educate and empower both people and upskill communities for progress? This is what CKC is today, and what we will strive for in the future.
About us
The Malmö Ideella Kompetenscenter Foundation was registered in May 2017, making it an independent legal entity. It was a spin-off from an ambitious EU project in southern Sweden between 2013 and 2016. The project aimed to empower and upskill associations and employed staff within civil society.
On September 13, 2019, the foundation's name was changed to:
KC Kompetenscenter Idéburen sektor.
Today, we call it CKC. In Swedish, an acronym for "Civilsamhällets kompetenscenter." This means literally "The Civil Society Centre for Competence"
In English, we transform it more to what we actually provide:
CKC - is Co-Design, Know-how, Change
The purpose of the foundation is to function as a motor and facilitator through competence-enhancing initiatives:
For the non-profit sector to meet present and future challenges
For people working in the non-profit sector to operate in the various roles required for an engaging activity for the benefit of the individual and the democratic development of society,
and for other sectors of society to increase knowledge and understanding of the non-profit sector
